Etymology of Architecture
architect (n.)
"person skilled in the art of building, one who plans and designs buildings and supervises their construction," 1560s, from Middle French architecte, from Latin architectus, from Greek arkhitekton"master builder, director of works," from arkhi- "chief" (see archon) + tekton "builder, carpenter," from PIE root *teks- "to weave," also "to fabricate."
Old English used heahcræftiga "high-crafter" as a loan-translation of Latin architectus. Middle English had architectour "superintendent." Extended sense of "one who plans or contrives" anything is from 1580s.

Frank Lloyd Wright, Speaking to the Taliesin Fellowship - November 30, 1958 (excerpted from How to Work with an Architect) - “ what is and who is an architect, and how and why is he?..... Well, the word arch, in the sense that it’s in architecture, means like the archbishop, means the top, the arch, the high one, the one above all the others. Then tech of course you know the meaning of; that’s technology, technique, tech like the Toltecs. Tech means the know-how, means how to put things together. So the proper translation of the word architect is the ‘master of the know-how’
Above etymological definitions of the term 'architect' suggests that the person who hold this title should be having qualities that make him/her qualifies to keep at top, at the high position above all the others. Those qualities are: 1) Design skills; 2) Business skills. Strategies for developing these skill following strategies were discussed:
- Reading Habit: "Readers are Leaders, Leaders are readers" Jim Qwik's this quote inspired me a lot to read books. He mentioned that almost all the CEOs of world's top companies reads 52 book in a year. Architects need to be open and curious to learn new knowledge from different field not restricting oneself into core technical and architecture.
